Overview

Cuddles Early Learning & Childcare runs early learning centres right across Perth, from Two Rocks in the north to Byford in the south.

Family-owned and genuinely local: qualified educators, in-house chefs cooking fresh meals, nappies included, and outdoor play spaces that get used every day. The families already enrolled love them.

The problem was the families who did not know them yet. In a market crowded with national chains, being loved locally is not the same as being found locally.

Challenge

When PWD took on Cuddles, four things were holding the group back:

  • Parents search by suburb: “childcare Beckenham”, “daycare near Merriwa”. Every centre was fighting its own local battle, usually against national brands with bigger budgets.
  • Flat traffic: organic visits sat at around 1,200 a month through all of 2025.
  • New centres opening invisible: Beechboro and Merriwa were due to open with no search presence at all.
  • No enquiry measurement: nobody could say which centre a tour booking or phone call actually came from.

What we did

Gave every centre a page worth finding

A dedicated page for each centre — its educators, rooms, routines and community — written for the suburb it serves rather than duplicated with the name swapped out. The new Beechboro and Merriwa pages ranked from a standing start and now bring in hundreds of local visits a month each.

Answered the questions parents actually ask

A content program built around real search behaviour: what childcare costs in Perth, the best age to start, why outdoor play matters, how development stages work. Guides that did not exist a year ago now bring in over 1,150 organic visits per half-year — and the cost guide alone accounts for more than 500 of them.

Fixed the foundations

Site structure, page speed and local signals tuned so every centre page presents consistently to search engines and has the best chance of ranking quickly.

Measured what matters

Book-a-tour submissions, enquiry forms and click-to-calls are now tracked for each centre individually. When Cuddles asks which centre a lead came from, the answer is in the data — success is measured in enquiries, not just visits.

Where it stands today

Comparing March–August 2026 with the same six months in 2025, all from Google Analytics as at 28 August 2026:

  • Organic visits are up 63% — and it is a step change, not a spike. Every month of 2025 sat between 1,100 and 1,400 visits; since January 2026 every month has landed between 1,780 and 2,300.
  • Enquiries from organic search are up 56% — tour bookings, enquiry forms and phone calls.
  • The new centre pages rank: Beechboro went from zero to 651 organic visits, Merriwa from zero to 513.
  • The careers page grew 3.3x, from 169 to 562 organic visits — the same visibility now helps Cuddles recruit educators in a tight market.

What has not happened yet

Not every centre has had the Beechboro treatment. Several established suburbs are still climbing rather than leading their local results, and that is where the next wave of growth sits.

AI search is the other open front. When a parent asks an assistant for childcare recommendations in their suburb, Cuddles is not yet reliably part of the answer. The suburb pages and parent guides are the right foundation for getting there.

We would rather show you the genuine position than round the story up.

What’s next

  • Every centre to Beechboro standard: roll the proven suburb-page model out across the established centres still climbing.
  • Open visible: future centres launch with their page ranking before the doors open, not after.
  • Content earlier in the journey: reach parents while they are still researching, months before they book a tour.
  • AI search visibility: be the answer when parents ask an assistant, not just a search box.

Next steps

The model is proven: local pages that rank, content that earns its traffic, and tracking that ties every enquiry back to a centre. The next phase is coverage — the same result, everywhere Cuddles operates.
