Overview

Direct Homes WA builds single-storey homes across Perth and the surrounding regions, and has made the modern farmhouse style its own.

Exposed stone, gabled facades, wide verandahs and floor plans built for acreage blocks — designs like The Wandi and the Farmhouse Whitby are the kind buyers save to their phone and drive out to see.

The catch: a design nobody finds is a design nobody builds. Being the farmhouse specialist only counts if you are the one Perth finds when it goes looking.

Challenge

When PWD took on Direct Homes WA, three things were holding the builder back:

  • Volume-builder competition: every search a farmhouse buyer makes is contested by national builders with display villages and big media budgets.
  • The specialty was not the search story: the farmhouse range — the thing Direct Homes WA is actually known for — was not pulling the traffic it deserved, and individual design pages were sitting well below their potential.
  • New designs launching quiet: a new design added to the range started with no search presence at all, and no plan to earn one.

What we did

Led with the farmhouse range

Instead of spreading effort evenly across the whole catalogue, we put the weight behind what Direct Homes WA is known for. The farmhouse range page was rebuilt around how buyers actually search, and its traffic doubled — from 1,044 organic visits to 2,122 in the comparison period.

Made each design findable by name and by need

Individual design pages were written and optimised to rank for the searches behind them — block size, style, region. The Wandi went from 401 organic visits to 932; the Farmhouse Whitby from 338 to 784.

Launched new designs ranking, not waiting

When The Yallingup joined the range, its page went live built to rank from day one. It has gone from zero to 239 organic visits — a new design earning its own audience instead of borrowing the homepage’s.

Measured what matters

Enquire-now forms, contact forms and click-to-call are all tracked in GA4, so growth is judged on enquiries reaching the sales team — not just sessions on a chart.

Where it stands today

Comparing March–August 2026 with the same six months in 2025 — organic search only, all from Google Analytics 4:

  • Organic search visits are up 96% — from 7,541 to 14,754. The homepage alone went from 3,228 organic visits to 6,104.
  • Enquiries from organic search are up 46% — from 357 to 521 enquire-now forms, contact forms and phone clicks.
  • The farmhouse range leads the growth: the range page doubled from 1,044 to 2,122 visits, The Wandi more than doubled to 932, and the Farmhouse Whitby to 784.
  • New designs launch visible: The Yallingup page ranked from a standing start to 239 organic visits.

What has not happened yet

Enquiries have not kept pace with traffic — visits are up 96% but enquiries are up 46%. Twice the audience is arriving, and the design pages are not yet converting their share of it.

That gap is the next job, not a footnote: conversion-rate work on the design pages — clearer next steps, better enquiry paths, pricing and inclusion detail where buyers expect it — is the clearest lever left to pull.

We would rather show you the genuine position than round the story up.

What’s next

  • Convert the traffic already arriving: conversion-rate optimisation on the design pages, so enquiry growth catches up with visit growth.
  • Every design to Yallingup standard: new designs launch with their page ranking, and older pages get the same treatment that doubled The Wandi.
  • Content earlier in the journey: reach buyers while they are still comparing styles and blocks, months before they contact a builder.
  • AI search visibility: be the answer when a buyer asks an assistant who builds farmhouse homes in Perth.

Next steps

The pattern is proven: lead with what the builder is known for, make every design findable, and measure enquiries rather than sessions. The next phase turns doubled traffic into doubled enquiries.
